HOUSTON (Press Release) — The Burns’ family will host their annual Thanksgiving community day on Nov. 23 where they will provide over 600 people with free dinners.
The family will collaborate with Slim Thug and the BossLife Foundation, and 1501 Certified, which was founded by the co-owner of Burns, Carl Crawford. Guests will have the opportunity to drive up and receive a to-go dinner for each person in their car in compliance with the social distance orders by the City of Houston. The menu will consist of seafood dressing, green beans, smoked turkey, corn, dinner rolls, desserts, and more.
“For over 47 years, our community has supported the Burns Family so it is always important to us to give back to the community. This is a family tradition that will forever live on,” says Cory Crawford, co-owner of Burns Bar-B-Que.
Last year, Burns, in collaboration with the BossLife Foundation, provided free turkey dinners, scholarships, and mentoring opportunities to kids in Houston. They have plans to continue their community efforts in 2021.
About Burns BBQ:
It all started in 1973 when Roy Burns Sr. started off his small local business venture selling barbecue to the Acres Home community in Houston.
Today, Burn’s Original BBQ (and sister restaurant Burns Burger Shack) are Texas staples that people come from all over the world to taste. Due to the overwhelming love of Burns Original BBQ, people have demanded that the BBQ hot spot caters their events, big and small, and they have for years. The new catering department will focus solely on providing a top-notch, Texas-style bbq experience for event requests all year around.
