Legendary rapper and original Screwed Up Click member Lil’ KeKe to host 713 Day Celebration, salutes

HOUSTON — Houston rap legend Lil’ KeKe is inviting the city to come out and celebrate 713 Day.

Known for rap hits and anthems like Southside, Chunk Up Da Deuce, and I’m a G, the rapper, whose real name is Marcus Lakee Edwards, is paying homage to the city that raised him and impacted his career with a celebration at 8th Wonder Brewery, located at 2202 Dallas Street on July 13.

This year’s 713 Day will celebrate Houston’s very own DJ Big Tho, DJ SupaStar, DJ Michael 500 Watts, DJ Good Grief, and DJ Gloss for their efforts to give Houston artists a platform.

Former Houston Mayor Annise Parker proclaimed Lil’ Keke’s 713 Day in 2015, and Mayor Sylvester Turner proclaimed Lil’ KeKe’s 7-Thirteen Day in 2018. The day is used as a way to celebrate the city of Houston through art, entertainment, food, and fun.
