By: Erica M. Ponder

Do you remember the first time you watched the classic movie Set If Off? Well, you may be able to relive those same feelings as the movie has now been turned into a stage play!

Writer and director Je’Caryous Johnson has adapted the film to an on-stage production, and may be bringing it to a city near you!

Known for his plays “Married But Single” and “Two Can Play That Game,” Johnson plans to take us back on the journey of childhood friends Frankie, Tisean (T.T.), Stoney and Cleo as they stick up banks in Los Angeles, and embark on a journey that will ultimately challenge their sisterhood, as well as their ability to stay afloat while engaging in a life of crime and violence. What they soon discover reveals that sometimes more money doesn’t always equate to more happiness.

The cast, originally starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Vivica A. Fox and Kimberly Elise, will now be played by LeToya Luckett, Kyla Pratt, Demetria McKinney, and Da Brat, who is confirmed to play the iconic character Cleo!
