Our favorite celebrities also gave us great insight on why giving back was so crucial and important to them.

“Because you can’t do it by yourself, and somebody gave it to you, and somebody gave it to them, so you gotta pass it down, because we’re not in this world by ourselves. It ain’t fun if you have it all by yourself,” LisaRaye said in a matter-of-fact fashion.

Just because she was serving me that shoulder with a wink! Yessssss, LisaRaye!

“We from the hood, we from Acres Home where we building those houses at, so it only makes sense… we just wanted to make sure we reach back and do something,” Slim Thug said. In 2018, Slim Thug also vows to keep bossing up and to continue giving back!

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee gave her stamp of approval on Boss Life, saying “Boss Life is the kind of foundation that brings all of you, the prestigious boxing world, the faith community, business, and many of us together.” We couldn’t agree more with that statement!

In addition, Boss Awards were presented to the honorees. Madd Hatta of 97.9 The Box and Industrial Welding Academy were also awarded for their leadership and community efforts.

Towards the end of the night, Daymond John reminded attendees to donate to the Boss Life Scholarship Fund, saying “It doesn’t matter how much you give no one knows but you. But please text right now to donate because the recipient could be your child or a family member. Wouldn’t it be great if your child was the next Daymond John or the next Slim Thug? Well with education and you all’s help, that can happen.”
